Barbara Smith oversees the Â鶹´«Ã½’s democracy, human rights, conflict resolution, and rule of law programs, which operate projects and observe elections in countries across the globe. Before coming to Â鶹´«Ã½, Smith was principal and founder of the international development consulting firm Mountain Time Development.

Dr. Kashef Ijaz became vice president for health programs at Â鶹´«Ã½ on Oct. 1, 2020. In this role, he provides leadership for programs and initiatives working to prevent or eliminate six tropical diseases in 18 nations, as well as efforts to improve mental health care in the United States and abroad.
