Graduate Assistantships: Donor Landscape Analysis

Objectives:

Conduct In-Depth Donor Research:

  • Identify potential donors and funding sources within specific thematic and geographic areas of peace and health programs.
  • Analyze existing donor databases to uncover trends and opportunities.
  • Prepare detailed profiles on potential donors, including their interests, giving history, and capacity.

Data Collection and Management:

  • Review current systems to identify existing research and assess its accessibility.
  • Collect data from various sources, including online databases, public records, and organizational reports.
  • Organize and manage donor information in a structured and easily accessible format.
  • Ensure data integrity and accuracy through regular updates and verification processes.

Donor Landscape Mapping:

  • Create visual maps and charts that highlight key donors and funding trends.
  • Identify gaps and opportunities within the current donor landscape.
  • Provide recommendations for strategic donor engagement and outreach.

Report Preparation:

  • Prepare comprehensive reports summarizing findings and analysis.
  • Highlight key insights and actionable recommendations for donor engagement.
  • Present reports to senior management and other stakeholders as needed.

Process Design, Development, and Deployment:

  • Evaluate current system use, data and processes.
  • Co-create a process for analyzing fundraising trends for competitors, using available research tools.
  • Create reporting templates for presenting the information collected.
  • Create process documentation and training materials.

Collaborative Engagement:

  • Work closely with the development team to align research findings with strategic goals.
  • Participate in team meetings and brainstorming sessions to contribute to the overall fundraising strategy.
  • Assist in drafting donor communications and proposals based on research findings.

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a graduate program (e.g., public administration, nonprofit management, business administration, etc.)
  • Strong research and analytical skills
  • Proficiency in data collection and management tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI, CRM systems)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
