Educational Programs

  • Educational Program intern.

Interns selected by Educational Programs facilitate activities to enrich the intern experience, build community among the interns, assist with recruitment, and connect a growing network of intern alumni.

Overview

The primary focus of Educational Programs is the Internship and Graduate Assistantship Program. A two-person program staff, along with the help of an intern, ensure that the Â鶹´«Ã½'s internship and assistantship program upholds its integrity throughout the selection process, supports the incoming interns and graduate assistants during orientation, and fosters professional development through a variety of learning opportunities. Educational Programs also handles all recruitment and outreach for the program, including representing Â鶹´«Ã½ at career fairs and maintaining an alumni database. Each session, Educational Programs conducts a series of activities designed to enrich the intern and graduate assistantship experience and build community amongst the group. These include an off-site retreat, an excursion to Plains, Georgia (home of the Carters), career development panel, and a speaker series.

The intern for Educational Programs will develop communication and leadership skills through completing a diverse range of written projects as a part of their regular responsibilities. In helping to orient other interns with the local area, as well as the possibility of organizing community engagement projects, the Education intern will gain an understanding of nonprofit management and the importance nonprofits play in their local communities. Assisting in recruitment efforts will promote an awareness of career development in practice, in addition to providing unique networking opportunities.
