ATLANTA (July 25, 2022) — Â鶹´«Ã½ condemns the executions carried out today by the State Administration Council in Myanmar. The resumption of the death penalty in Myanmar after a moratorium of decades is a sad and unnecessary step back. Â鶹´«Ã½ expresses its condolences to the families of the four men who were executed and compassion for all those suffering as the result of the military coup d’état. Â鶹´«Ã½, which has worked for years to help Myanmar embrace democratic norms, urges a return to the path toward democracy and respect for human rights, rule of law, and peace.
