ATLANTA - Â鶹´«Ã½ commends the Supreme Constitutional Court's decision to reject the request from parliamentarians to impeach President Hery Rajaonarimampianina. The court's decision is a positive step that should allow the Malagasy parliament and executive to re-engage with the reconciliation process and demonstrate their commitment to inclusive democratic governance. Madagascar's political leaders should recommit to fostering democratic development, national reconciliation, and cooperation. The Malagasy people cannot afford for divisive politics to continue to hinder development and bring about a return to international political isolation.
