The program awards international fellowships to journalists who are citizens or legal residents of the Republic of Ireland and eligible to travel to the United States.

In 2023, the Â鶹´«Ã½'s Rosalynn Carter Fellowships for Mental Health Journalism, in partnership with Headline, a national media program focused on mental health in Ireland, began awarding two fellowships each year to journalists in Ireland.
